How to enter Data

File

Open Form or Recent Forms.

Select a project and then form

Enter
Place

cursor in the first data entry field

After entering data press Enter or Tab to go
to the next field
While entering you automatically move from
one page to the next
After entering the last field in the form you will
go automatically to next record by tabbing
Else Open the new record from tool bar

Saving the record

Shifting

to next record will automatically save

the previous record
Manual saving

Ctrl + S
Save button from tool bar

Find Record
Search

the record matching any field value or

combination of field values
Form with more than 255 field it will be able
to search from only first 255 fields
Date: Format for search MM/DD/YYYY

Choose search fields

Enter Search criteria
Results appear in the grid window

Find records.

Analysis
Classic

Analysis can be accessed by clicking

Classic from theEpi Info main window or by
selecting Tools > Analyze Data>Classic .
It reads data files created in Form Designer
and other types of databases (e.g., MS
Access, MS Excel, SQL Server, and ASCII).
Classic Analysis can also produce graphs to
present graphic representations of data.

Classic Analysis Work Space

Command explorer
contains

a list of available commands

separated into folders by command type.
Commands are generated, edited, and
executed.
Selecting a command opens the
corresponding dialog box for that command,
function, or statistic to run.

Program editor
Displays

the commands and code created

using the Classic Analysis Command Tree.
Commands can also be typed directly into the
Program Editor.
Programs or .PGM files written in Classic
Analysis can be stored in the current .PRJ or
as text files.
Saved programs can be run against new
data, or shared with others.

Output Window
The

Output window acts as a browser and

displays information generated from
commands run in Program Editor.
The buttons allow you to navigate through
program scripts that run and display in the
output screen.

Read Command

Write Command
To

use the WRITE command, open a project

using the READ command.
From the Classic Analysis Command Tree,
click Write.
The WRITE dialog box opens.

Write Command

Assign Command

This command assigns an expression result or the

field value to a variable.
Variables are usually created with the DEFINE
command and assigned a value.

Route Out
You

can locate output by using the

ROUTEOUT command.
If no directory exists, the file is placed in the
current projects directory.
Results accumulate until you execute a
CLOSEOUT command.
