DEFINITION OF PET HATES, FEAR


AND PHOBIA
1/ Pet hates:
Pet hates are something that is disliked
intensely and is a constant or repeated
annoyance.
They are also defined as things that
certain people find irritating.
Example:
- Hating bossy people.
- Loathing finding hair in food.
- Dislike shop assistants who ignore
the customers.

2/ Fear:
Fear is a feeling of agitation and anxiety
caused by the presence or imminence of
danger.
It is controllable.
3/ Phobia:
Phobia is an irrational, intense and
persistent fear of a specific thing or
situation.
It is more than just being afraid and
uncontrollable.

The famous singer Rihanna is frightened of underwater


animals.

The actor in Harry porter series film Daniel Radcliffe is


terrified of clowns.

The scientist Louis Pasteur was scared of the germs.

The actress Jennifer Aniston fears flying.

The queen of pop Madona is afraid of thunder.

- Sociophobia: The fear of social situations.

SYMPTOMS OF PHOBIA:

Your professional or social life is negatively


affected by your irrational fears.
Your feelings wont go away and seem
irrational even to you.
You have palpitation, chest pain, dizziness
You are in sensation of suffocation
(breathlessness), fainting, trembling,
sweating
You become mad and lose control.
You have stomachache and nausea.

INFLUENCES OF FEAR AND PHOBIA


ON PEOPLE
Positive influences:
- Fear is considered as a peoples defense
mechanism.
- Make people become more vigilant and careful.
Negative influences:
- People are always under the pressure of their
phobias.
- People may be in danger if they cant control
their emotions.
- People will have negative activities to avoid
their phobias.
- Making bad impacts on peoples health (both
physical and mental).

HOW TO TREAT THE PHOBIA?


Try to step-by-step approach your phobia.
Expose to the fear/phobia in a safe and
controlled setting.
Observe and imitate people who are not
afraid of what you fear.
Get the help of technology to cure the
phobia.
Learn about phobias (phobias are common,
having a phobia doesnt mean that you are
crazy, phobias are highly treatable).
Learn relaxation techniques (deep breathing,
meditation, muscle relaxation).
Try to replace the feeling of fear with a
feeling of relaxation.

PET HATES CHANGE AS YOU GET


OLDER OR NOT?
Possible:
- You are affected by others.
- You are affected by surrounding
environments.
- The changes of your habits and life.
- Your awareness (you want to change your pet
hates because of some reasons).
Impossible:
- Pet hates have developed into fears and
phobias.
- Your pet hates are not negative.

The players have to remember some kinds
of phobia that mentioned earlier.
The players will choose a number and a
letter.
If the picture and the meaning match, the
player will receive a gift and have one
more chance to choose.
Otherwise, the turn will be given to
another player.
