Strategies adopted
1.

Contract Farming introduced in the state by amending the PAPM Act in aug,2007 Four
Companies , Namely have taken up the contract farming :1. M/S SKOL Brewaries Pvt.Ltd.
: 2300 Acres.
2. HAFED, Panchkula.
: 6000 Acres

: Nil (In Process)
2. Export Promotion Policy :- The Board has launched export promotion policy which
seeks to provide technical and financial assistance to the farmers for upgrading the
quality of produce and to take up value addition activities. It promotes formation of
growers groups/ societies for this purposes. An Export Promotion Council is also
proposed to be created.

to adopt practices for value addition. Under this scheme ,assistance for
grading/sorting and packing material and transportation is provided.

.Contd..

Strategies adopted Contd..

5. Assisting Farmers to bring more area under horticulture crops with
cluster approach..
6. Encouraging farmers to take advantage of NHM subsidies for setting up
Orchards & plantation,
Nurseries, green houses &plastic tunnels,
Community tanks & micro irrigation
pack houses and cold storage.

Hurdles we are facing:1. Lack of proper grading, sorting, cleaning, sanitation

and handling lines.
