peopling of the Philippines in early times.

DIVINE THEORY:
In the beginning
GOD
created
the heavens
and
the earth
(Genesis 1: 1)

SCIENTIFIC
THEORY:
At first, because of
the tremendous
heat of the

It is the most widely known version in

Philippine history by H. Otley Beyer.

Filipinos came in waves of migration:
25,000- 30,000 B.C - Negritos:
5,000 6,000 B.C - Indonesians; &
3,000 B.C.- Malays

Wave of Migration Theory:

Debunked
The wave of migration theory is now

debunked by some historians and

archaeologists for lack of bases.
Professor H. Otley Beyers theory was
implying that our race, our culture was based
on foreign peoples culture and not that of our
own. That we, Filipinos are not Filipinos if it
were not for the Aetas, the Indonesians and
the Malays.

CORE POPULATION
THEORY
The southeast asian people who came here to the

Philippines became the core population which

shared common cultural traits or base culture.
Indonesians, Malays, and others
Differences came about because of their need to
adapt to their environment. There is no fixed
period of time nor a definite destination for these
immigrants.

Felipe Janda

Ocano, Robert
Fox and Manuel
Santiago
provided pieces
of evidence that
the first Filipinos
were the Tabon
Men found in
Tabon Cave,
Palawan.
