Why discuss leadership?

Why discuss leadership?

In the current economic and geo-political dispensation
we are faced with an environment characterized by;
Volatility
Uncertainty
Chaos
Ambiguity

Current challenges
We are faced with
A closing window of opportunity for bold decisions to
be made by organizations and their leaders in response
to the uncertain economic
outlook,
A challenging operating environment, new competition
and
An ever increasing calls for accountability and
transparency.

Leadership challenges
We are challenged to do more for less
Adopt quickly to changing circumstances
Innovate on the fly
Deal with external uncertainties
Balance our lives- get time for our families

Are new leaders able to cope with the demands of

the new age?
A new type of leadership is therefore needed in modern
organizations in order to:
build positive workplace cultures that get the best out of
people and
support innovation,
empowerment and
ethical behaviour.
