What will I learn from the English lesson learning to use the verb
have to?
During this English lesson you will be learning about the verb have to
in simple sentences. Also the lesson will cover how to use the verb to
have.
What does the verb have mean and how to use it
When you use the words 'have to' it is used to describe when
something has to happen.
It means you have to and that you are obliged. Below is some
examples of how to use in sentences.
I have to catch the bus today.
I have to pick my car up from the garage tonight.
I have to go and eat my dinner now.
I have to go back to London tomorrow.

The verb "to have" can also mean that you are in
possession of something
Examples:

food.

It has a watch. It doesn't have a watch.

When using the English verb to have to indicate
possession you can say: "I have a watch" or you can
say "I have got a watch.
How to use the verb to have to show an action.
I have a bath every day.
I'm having a bath now.
WARNING!! - Continuous form I having
You must use auxiliary verb be.
Example:
I am having a rest. Are you having a shower?

Write on a piece of paper a list of 5 things you dont have to do every day.
Write on a piece of paper a list of 6 things your partners have or brought to class. Dont

forget to write the name of your partner to form a sentence.

In a sheet of paper write your complete name, date, and as a tittle Occupations
Look for twelve occupations, with these twelve occupations write a sentence using the

What do a and an mean?
A and an have the same meaning and are both called articles.
A is used in front of words that begin with consonants.
Basic examples:
A banana, a cat, a dog, a fan, a grape.
An is used in front of words that begin with vowels a, e, i, and
o.
Basic examples:
An ant, an elephant, an igloo, an office

How to use in a sentence and introducing non count
nouns
What is a noun?
Nouns are used as the subject of every sentence.
NOUN + IS + NOUN
England is a country. (England = noun / country = noun)
London is a city. (London = noun / city = noun)
What does Singular mean?
Singular means one only, not two, three, four or more.
England = a singular noun / London = a singular noun.
Country = a singular noun / City is = a singular verb.
A cat is an animal.

Plural nouns, count nouns and verbs
What does plural and count nouns mean?
Plural means more than one, two, three, four
or more.
Count nouns can also be counted. They also
have plural form
Plural nouns end in -s.
Cows are animals. = plural
A cow is an animal = singular
Plural: cows / Singular = cow

Singular nouns, that ends with the letter y, now end with
ies.
Remove the letter -y and replace with -ies.*
Singular: - study
Plural: - studies (plural more than +1)
English and Thai are languages.
Connecting 2 singular nouns with and to become plural.
English and Thai are both singular by connecting them with and
they become plural.
Cows and sheep are animals.
Cows = a plural noun
Are = a plural verb (plural more than +1)
Animals = a plural noun
