Al Gore and the Internet

Many jokes and derisive comments have been
made about Al Gore saying he invented the
Internet.
What he actually said, in an interview with Wolf
Blitzer on CNNs Late Edition, was:

During my service in the United States Congress, I took

the initiative in creating the Internet. I took the
initiative in moving forward a whole range of
initiatives that have proven important to our countrys
economic growth and environmental protection,
improvements in our educational system.
