ADJECTIVES
An adjective modifies a word by
describing, identifying, or
quantifying words.
Example:
The big dog barked all night.
(The adjective big describes the
noun "dog".)

Characteristics
1- An adjective usually precedes the
noun which it modifies.
Examples:
The small room was filled with huge, brown
suitcases.
The stores are playing irritating Christmas
music.
I live in a comfortable, cozy house.

Characteristics
2- An adjective can be modified by an adverb
Example:
She was really tired because the day had been very long .

3- The form of an adjective does not change.


It does not matter if the noun being modified is male
or female, singular or plural, subject or object.
Example:
Peter has a beautiful cousin.
Peter has beautiful cousins.
