as an active part of the learning
process rather than a passive
listener.
Helps prepare for the exams,
quizzes.

Notes often contain info that generally

cannot be found else where (i.e
textbooks).
Notes are often a valuable clue for what
instructor thinks is important.
means that you are working the
information and processing in every day

to eliminate having to refer to the

textbook (Straker & Kelman, 2007,
p. 75).

Develop your note taking skills.

Benefits of Cornell Notes

Your notes are organized
You review your notes every
day
You can quickly and easily
identify key terms and
concepts.
Your lecture notes become a
study guide to help you
prepare for the exam.

Try the Cornell Method of taking

notes for a few weeks and notice
the difference!
You dont have to be a genius to
take good notes. All that you need
is a good work ethic and
consistency.

read the textbook again!

If you take good notes, you
may not have to read it again.
Highly organized notes are
crucial!

One reason for this is a lack of

awareness of the fact that the
numbers of the elderly have and will continue to - explode
rapidly. The elderly population
in the year 2000 was triple
that of 1970. By 2025 this
figure is expected to double
again to be as much as 8 - 10
times the numbers of 1970.
