Predict the minimum number of wheel turns before fatigue
crack initiation, the stress life (SN) approach was
utilised.

Conclusion

Static stress analysis and the stress life approach gives a

reasonable
estimate of the fatigue life of the steel wheel.

Fatigue life prediction of parabolic leaf spring under

various road conditions

Based on the simulation result, rural area rough road
condition contributed highest damage to the parabolic leaf
spring followed by curve mountain road and smooth highway
road. Therefore, life of parabolic spring during rough road
operations is lowest, and the second is mountain road
condition.

The fatigue life predictions were obtained from linear elastic
finite element analyses using the CoffinManson model. The
strain energy density model was employed to correct the
stressstrain response at the notch tip.

Conclusion
The fatigue damage parameter was the local von Mises
equivalent stress. For lives greater than 104 cycles.
