defines the work packages and tasks at a very low level. It is


a tree structure of deliverables and tasks that need to be
perform to complete a project.

Is a scheduling procedure for production processes. It is intended to

simultaneously meet three objectives: ensure materials and products


are available for production and delivery to customers; maintain the
lowest possible level of inventory; and plan manufacturing activities,
delivery schedules and purchasing activities

INFORMATION MANAGEMENT

Is the process of gathering, storing, and anlyzing information needed for

a specific purpose such as planning or making management decisions. It


involves the collection and management from one or more resources
and the distribution of that information to one or more audiences.

Is a French mining engineer, director of mines and

management theorist, who developed the theory of Scientific


Management
He was one of the most influential contributors to modern

Scientific Management is a general theory of business
administration also known as FAYOLISM.

FREDERICK TAYLOR(1856-1915)

Is the Father of Management


He used scientific approach to understand the steps in completing

a product and using money to create added incentive for workers


who exceed the average level of production.
He published a landmark book Principles of Scientific
Management in 1911, where he proposed work methods
designed to increase worker productivity significantly.
This scientific model of management was considered an important
milestone in the evolution of management theory

HENRY GANTT(1861-1919)

Is an associate of Frederick Taylor


He became famous for the Gantt chart is commonly used

today in project management


A Gantt chart graphically displays project schedule depicting
progress in relation to time and often used in planning and
tracking a project
Gantt invented management techniques such as milestone
deliverables, task duration and estimates.

BOOZ-ALLEN AND HAMILTON(1900-1950)
Is the developer of PROGRAM EVALUATION

AND REVIEW
TECHNIQUE(PERT) as part of the United States Navy Polaris missile
submarine program
The PERT is a mathematical model for project management designed
to analyse and represent the tasked involved in completing a given
project .
In conjunction with the development of PERT, Dupont Corporation and
Remington Rand Corporation jointly developed the Critical Path
Method(CPM) to manage plant maintenance projects.
The CPM is mathematically based algorithm for scheduling a set of
project activities
