In this presentation we are going to talk about the United States of America.
We will go over some important aspects such as: famous places, composition and cultural diversification.
We chose this country because its very famous and it has a lot of well known places. We hear many informations about it and see its costumes in the movies.
It seems to be a very different but interesting country.

The United States of America (USA) is a federal republic. It

is located in the North of America, between Canada and
Mexico.

Washington D.C. which is the capital, belongs to the state

of Columbia, in the East part of USA.

It has 50 states, which 48 of them are

contiguous.

The two that arent contiguous are: Alaska

and Hawaii. The first is in the northwest
part of North America and the second is an
archipelago in the middle of the Pacific.

The

territory that became United

States was colonized by the British

since the XVI century.
The

first

habitants

formed

colonies.
They

fought for the independence

and achieved it on 4th of July, 1776.

The

U.S. Census Bureau currently estimates that it has a population of 322 183

000 people and it is the third most populous nation in the world, after China and
India.
USA

is the major industrialized nation and it increases people to become a part

on it, just like the American dream of the 1920s.

There are some typical words which are used

by the American people that arent from the
British language.

Most times we are more used to listen some

American words or expressions than others
which are British.

Maybe it happens because we listen it many

times in the movies that we watch and we
usually cant distinguish an American
expression from a British one.

In this picture we have some examples of

different words in British and American English
that mean the same.

USA its one of the nations in the world which has

many ethnically diverse and multicultural nations.

Its population is a product of large-scale immigration

from many countries around the world.

The geography and climate of United

States are also extremely diverse.

There are large cities but there is

also a wide variety of wildlife (like,
for example: horses, birds, reptiles)

There are many interesting things to

see.

One of the most famous buildings in

the US is the Statue of Liberty. It was
design by Frdric Auguste Bartholdi,
a French sculptor, was built by
Gustave Eiffel and dedicated on
October 28th, 1886. It was a gift to
the United States from the people of
France.

Also located in New York, there is a big

attraction: the Central Park (which is an
urban

park

in

middle-upper

Manhattan). Is the most visited urban

park in the US and also one of the most
filmed locations in the world.

In the other side of this big country is

the most famous studio and fun park in
the world: Disney.

In our opinion USA is a really interesting country.

Its huge comparing to ours!

It has a short, but very important history.

There are many monuments which are very famous all over the
world.

We hear from America and American people by music, series and

movies.

We think that it would be awesome if we could visit it one day.
