Introduction
Based on the topic mentioned, the slides
shown will highlight the problems. The
cause(s) and effect(s) of the problems will
also be discussed. Finally the solutions are
given too.
The problems are The Poor Performance of
Children in Math, Science and English,
Disciplinary Problems among Students, No
Parental Involvement in Childrens
Education and No supportive learning
environment.

Introduction
This topic given was mentioned by many parents during
the previous PTA meeting, how some parents were
worried about the poor performance of their children on
certain subjects especially Math, Science and English.
As the president of the association, the matter is brought
forward to the next meeting. PTA is an important part of
the school to help the school in students achievement, it is
hoped that the school could do something and work very
hard towards improving the teaching and learning of the
subjects .As a vital part of the school, the association
should assist the school to implement the programs and
activities.

1. Problem # 1: The Poor Performance of Children in

Math, Science and English.

The negative attitude of the children/students. For example: they

do not aware the importance of education for the future.
Easy to get bored and frustrated.
They prefer to be in the safe zone. For example they love to play
computer games or hang out with friends at the parks or malls
without having to think any other responsibilities.

Effect:
No efforts to improve the subjects that they are weak on.
No enjoyment and satisfaction in academic.

4. Solution:

School must provide skillful teachers to teach students.

Teachers should give them sufficient exposure towards the critical
subjects. E.g: having extra classes
Parents need to monitor their schoolwork at home.
Parents must provide conducive learning environment to their
children at home.
They could go for tuition classes if necessary.

1. Problem #2: Disciplinary Problems among

Students.
2. Cause:

Parents have no information about childrens progress at school.

No communication between parents and the school.
Broken family background.

3. Effect:

Getting into social ill such as drug addiction, smoking and mixing
with bad company.
Causing them to break the school rules like playing truant,
skipping classes, cheating in exam, bully, blackmailing etc

4. Solution:

Parents should give them guidance, advice and religious

teaching at home.
The school counselor should play their roles in helping them by
personal counseling sessions or having motivation camps for the
problematic children.
School should share information about student progress.

2. Cause:

parents have no quality time and quantity time with family

Parents have no interest in the childrens education.
The children are no given proper attention by parents

Effect:
The children feel neglected.
The children have no interest in academic achievement
They get low results in academic.
They have no awareness for a better future
Solution:
parents should be responsible and accessible.
Parents and teachers should show love, care and concern
parents should have quality and quantity time for family.
The school and PTA should organize any seminar or workshop on
parental tips.
Family should plan meaningful activities to do together

1. Problem #4: No supportive learning environment.

2. Cause:
No conducive atmosphere at home and school. For
example the children have to share a small bedroom with
many other siblings if they have big families, thus causing
them to have difficulties to study at home
Parents and teachers live very stressful lives give
negative impacts on the children.
Too many distractions at home.
3. Effect:
Easy to get under stress.
Difficult to complete homework given.
No mood to study or revise the subjects

4. Solutions:
Parents and teachers should be a role model and
responsible towards the children well-beings.
The school should carry out meaningful
programs without having to spend a lot of money
on the programs.
Teachers and parents need to attend seminar or
workshops on how to manage stress
Parents and teachers must always control their
stress and be calm and patient with the children.
Having sufficient learning aids at school and also
at home by providing a conducive learning
environment with materials needed to support the
children in academic.

Conclusion

There are many problems faced by the school

on low achievement of children in education. To
improve students achievement, the school,
parents and PTA must play their best roles. It is
hoped that the recommendations given can help
to overcome the problems faced by the children,
the school and parents.
This is about collaboration and cooperation
between parents and the school. If not, there is
no way to improve any students achievement.
