Electronic D rafting

Electronics
refer to the flow of charge (moving electrons)
through non-metal conductors (mainly
semiconductors).
Electronic circuitry
Basic components
Two- terminal components and more than three components
Resistors
Capacitors
Inductors
Semiconductor diodes

All the amplifying components have one thing in common:

they all have three or more terminals.

Electronic Com ponents and

their Sym bols

Schematic Diagram
A plan or diagram that shows graphical symbols and
electrical connections and the functions of different
parts of a circuit or a combination of circuits.
Limits:
Does not illustrate the physical sizes, shapes, or chassis
location of the components, parts, and devices.
Does not usually show mounting devices or terminals
which are connected in constructing the circuit assembly.

PictorialD iagram

P ictorial D iag ram

P ictorial D iag ram

a picture drawn to show the components of a
circuit, their location upon the chassis or panel,
and how they are connected together
Usually drawn to a scale that shows the circuit
and its related components and in a size that is
proportional to the finished product
wire connections are drawn with as little
crossover as possible and with as much of wiring
as possible in full view

P ictorial D iag ram

circuit components appearing upon the diagram
may or may not be identified by name and
rating, depending upon the policy of the
company that uses the diagram
the outstanding feature are widely used for
instruction purposes as guides in assembly line
production work, for maintenance activities, and
for assembling kits of all kinds

Block D iagram

Block D iagram

Block D iagram
is used primarily to show the relationship
between the various component groups or
stages in the operation of a circuit
It indicates in block form the part of a signal
through a circuit and the operational sequence
that is performed by a circuit
most often drawn in the shapes of square or
rectangles joined by single lines with
arrowheads located at the terminal leads

Block D iagram
ends of the lines are used to show the direction of
the signal path from the input to the output as
diagram is read from left to right
information that is necessary to describe the
components or stages on the diagram is placed
within the blocks as a general rule
devices such as amplifiers, antennas,
loudspeakers, and output meters are represented
by standard symbols instead by squares or
rectangles

Block D iagram
shows the functions of the various stages of a
circuit in order of their operation but does not
give any information regarding specific
components of wiring connection
commonly used by engineers and technicians
as the first step in designing new equipment
widely used in catalogue, advertising copy,
and product description folders
