WHY EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES

Emerging Technologies are contemporary advances
and innovation in various fields of technologies.
Recognize that most emerging technologies are
influencing our daily lives.
These technologies are those technical innovations
which represent progressive developments within a
field for competitive advantage.

CLOUD COMPUTING
Cloud computing comes into focus only when you think about what IT
always needs: a way to increase capacity or add capabilities on the fly
without investing in new infrastructure, training new personnel, or licensing
new software.
Cloud computing encompasses any subscription-based or pay-per-use
service that, in real time over the Internet, extends IT's existing
capabilities.

It includes
SaaS
Utility computing
Web services in the
cloud
Platform as a service
MSP (managed service
providers)
Service commerce
platforms
Internet integration

NANOTECHNOLOGY
THE NEXT VERY BIG(SMALL) THING

Nano Technology??
Nano science and nanotechnology are the study and

application of extremely small things and can be used across

all other science fields such as chemistry, biology, physics,
material science and engineering.
Nano technology is the understanding and control of
matter at the nano scale, at dimensions between
approximately 1 and 100 nm.
Nanotechnology is not just a new field of science and
engineering, but a new way of looking at and studying it.

Nanoscale
A sheet of paper - 100,000 nms thick.
Nanometre is one-billionth of as metre.
Human DNA strand - 2.5 nms in
diameter.
1 inch - 25,400,000 nms.
A human hair -80,000nms wide.
A gold atom - a third of a
nanometre in diameter.

MANUFACTURING
Manufacturing at the nanoscale is called
nanomanufacturing. There are two approaches:
