Hungarian language

Hungarian (= magyar) is a Uralic language, part of the Ugric


group, spoken by the Hungarians. The name "Uralic" refers
to the suggested original homeland of the Uralic family,
which is often located in the vicinity of the Ural Mountains.

Polish Hungarian history

She was the daughter of King Bla IV of
Hungary and Maria Laskarina. She was a niece
of St. Elizabeth of Hungary and great-niece of
Saint Hedwig. Kinga's sisters were Saint
Margaret of Hungary and Jolenta of Poland
(Yolanda, Helen).
Stefan Batory (Bthory Istvn) (1533-1586)
He was a Hungarian noble Prince of
Transylvania (15711586), then King of Poland
(15761586).

In the Hungarian Revolution of 1848, a Polish


general, Jzef Bem, became a national hero of
both Hungary and Poland. He was entrusted with
the defence of Transylvania at the end of 1848, and
in 1849, as General of the Szkely troops.
World War II - Hitlers invasion of Poland (1939)
Admiral Horthy's government, on the ground of
long-standing Polish-Hungarian friendship,
declined, Hitler's request to transit German
forces across Carpathian Rus into southeastern
Poland. The Hungarian refusal allowed the Polish
government and tens of thousands of military
personnel to escape into neighboring Hungary and
Romania, and from there to France and Frenchmandated Syria.
