LIFE IN THE HOLY SPIRIT

(Ang Buhay sa Espiritu Santo)

INTRODUCTION:
LIFE in the Holy Spirit
Is a very important topic, because it is this kind of life that God
wants for us.
Life in the Holy Spirit was normal for early Christians. They
truly experienced the Holy Spirit at work. Holy Spirit acting among
them, guiding them, speaking to them, giving them gifts. We need
to know the Holy Spirit not just a doctrine, but as a Person.

VERY STRONG
VERY ATTRACTIVE

From a small sect, it conquered the Roman empire.

The same power is available to us today. That is
the power of the Holy Spirit.

Holy Spirit
With the Holy Spirit men gain:

Union with God. A new relationship with God the

Father (Eph.2:18)
A new nature. A new spiritual power as a Christian
life (2Cor. 5:17)
The power to serve Jesus and His people (Acts.
1:8)
A new life in the Holy Spirit which is available to all
who received Jesus as our Lord and savior.
Holy Spirit will give us a will power.
Holy Spirit will give us new heart.
Holy Spirit will give us new life from God.

Receiving the Holy Spirit What does it mean?

(Early Disciples experience)

Jesus promises the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8)

Disciples were told to stay in Jerusalem and wait.
The day of Pentecost (a Jewish holiday) Acts 2
An exciting event. Noise like a strong wind, fire,
speaking in tongues.
It created a big stir.
Peter proclaims the gospel.
Disciples were transformed from frightened men
into a bold, Powerful apostles. 3000 peoples were
converted!

Receiving the Holy Spirit mean for us today

We will experience the same power and gift of the

Spirit that the early Christian did.
- Same transparency power
- Same deep worship
- Same power for speaking the gospel
We can receive the same spiritual gift. (Cor 12:1.411)
A word on the gift of tongues.

What is Gift of Tongues

Common experience w/ the Baptism in the Spirit.

It is a gift from God.
It is a gift that immediately manifest.
It is an important first step gateway to a fuller in life in
the Spirit.

How can we receive the baptism

of the Spirit?

God has promised us the Holy Spirit (LK 11:9-13)

We just simply take God up on His promise.
We ask our Father to give us the Holy Spirit.
Be sure we will receive it because God said so.
We just need to ask in faith.

Baptism in the Spirit means for us.

(Today)

For Christian it is not the initial reception of the Holy Spirit. We

already received the Spirit at Baptism & Confirmation.
We will experienced the fuller release of the power of the Holy
Spirit in our lives.
Will change our life.
Will know God more personally.

Baptism in the Spirit means for us.

(Today)

Will praying into a new way (more God-centered, more

thanksgiving and praise rather than petition and more
listening.
Bible comes to life.
Better Relationship (w/ spouse children, family & others)
A new joy despite problems.
Much more peace, much more answered prayer, and
guidance.
Etc.

Obstacles to receiving Gods gifts.

An unrepentant attitude (Refusing to admit sin as sin.)

Feeling unworthy.
Fear of what other will think.
Doubt.
Pride. Attire of not wanting or needing Gods gifts.
Being selective as to what gifts we want.

What to do in the prayer session

next week.

Mainly pray individually.

We will have corporate prayer.
Facilitator leaders will pray each person individually.
Reading of commitment to Christ. Be prepared to pray
this next week.
Have one on one talk to your facilitator.
Talk to your facilitator if you have some question and
problem to be encountered.
Pray during the week. Go to Confession &
Communion.

Conclusion

Since you are doing so well responding to God (you

have finished 2/3 of the CLP) you are making Satan
very unhappy. He is losing his grip but will not give up.
So, keep on praying to Jesus and everything will be
fine.
God offers each of you a new life in the Spirit. Be open
to it and have faith that you will receive it because God
has promised it.

Always think & thanks GOD to all the
blessing & Good works that He
provided to us.
