General and Specific Problems

Research problems are more general and refer to


the situation/s that you intend to give answers or
solutions to. Because of this, it is useful to separate
the statement of the problem into two parts:
a. The general problem
b. The specific problem

Note that the specific problem is not necessarily


small, but rather it must be precisely specified
and capable of being addressed with available
resources.

General vs Specific Problems


The general problem statement sets the stage for the
specific, researchable problem.
While the specific problem narrows the perspective to a
set of issues on which knowledge or information is needed.
It must clarify,
what knowledge is needed;
the reasons why the knowledge is needed;
by whom the knowledge is needed;
the potential purposes it could serve.

21st Century Learning: How ready are we?
The major problem of the study is to assess the practices of teachers
in the delivery of instruction and students competence based on the
21st century learning.
Specific concerns of the study should cover the following:

described in terms of:

An Assessment of the Students Level of


Competencies in TLE and Computer

This study sought to find answers to the question What is


the level of the students knowledge and skills in TLE and
Computer? Specifically, the following questions were
investigated.
1. What is the level of the students knowledge and skills
based on self-rating?
2. What is the level of the students performance in TLE
based on their marks?
3. Is there a significant difference between the students selfrating and the level of their performance based on their
marks?

the Secondary Level
The major concern of the study is to develop modules in
Basic HTML responsive to the needs of the high school
students of the Holy Spirit Academy of Malolos.
Specifically, the study sought to find answers to the

1. How may the modules in basic HTML be effectively
developed?
2. What topics in basic HTML may be included in the
modules?

The Effect of Semestral Scheduling to the


Academic Performance of the Third Year
Students in TLE and Computer Subjects
This action research attempts to validate how
semestral scheduling affects the academic
performance of the students in the third year level in
both TLE and computer subjects.
Specific Questions:
1. What is the GPA of the students taking TLE in the
first and second semester?
2. What is the GPA of the students taking Computer in
the first and second semester?
