Project Background
This project purpose to do reassessment of stabilities condition of
local tunnel Sumasang South
Sulawesi. That is because the area /
region is an area of unstable and
prone to the occurrence of ground
motion. Therefore it is necessary to
anticipate the problem, either during
operations or for the long term.

GEOLOGICAL CONDITIONS
Morfologi
Conditions around the tunnel area dominated by quite gentle slope with angle
between 20-30. The presence of trees indicates that the water accumulates
around the area. So in this area is an area of many trapped water.

CONCLUSION
The investigation has identified, there is soft to
medium soil below 11 meter from the surface. The
elevation of Armco tunnel foundation structure is at
4.3 meter below soil surfaces.
Using pseudostatic analysis where maximum
acceleration is 0.2 g, the analysis conclude that
maximum displacement is 16.2 cm.
We conclude that with soil-structure interaction, the
capacity of the structure still more than enough to
retain the earthquake load. However the interaction
between soil and structure should always been
maintain to achieve this condition.
LIMITATIONS
The recommendations presented in this report are based on
our current understanding of the site condition. The nature of
subsurface conditions may vary between tested locations and
from the assumptions discussed. Variations between the tested
locations may not become evident until construction.
If the subsurface conditions encountered during construction
differ from those encountered by the site investigation, GEC
should be notified so that we might review our
recommendations in light of such changes.
Our professional services have been performed, our findings
derived, and our recommendations prepared in accordance
with generally accepted geotechnical engineering principles
and standards. GEC is not responsible for the conclusions,
opinions, or recommendations of others based on these data.
