 Assocham’s ‘Eco Pulse Study’ on CSR for 2009-10

 300 corporate houses have identified 26 different areas:


i. community welfare
ii. education
iii. environment
iv. health as well as rural development

 In 300 corporate houses, 74 are from the chemical sector contributing


i. 12% to the overall CSR initiatives
ii. 28% CSR focuses on environment
iii. 18% on education
iv. 12% on healthcare
v. 6% on community welfare
 62 companies in the
FMCG and consumer
durable sector:
i. 10.5% to overall CSR
ii. 29% on community
welfare
iii. 21% on environment
iv. 15% on education
CONCLUSION
 CSR has to come a long in India.
 Corporate have clearly exhibited their ability to make
a significant difference in the society.
 In the current social situation in India, it is difficult
for one single entity to bring the changes.
 Effective partnerships between corporate, NGOs and
the government will place India’s social development
on a faster track.
 TATA STEEL has been awarded THE GOLDEN
PEACOCK AWARD for CSR for year 2009.
