Installing the pH/ORP Combination electrode

In this video, watch a demonstration of combi electrode installation. The
combi electrode measures pH and ORP (oxygen reduction potential). ORP
is a measure of the potential for reduction chemical reactions to take
place. Its a standard parameter included with the AP-7000 probe (shown
in the video), AP-5000 and AP-2000.
Aquaread multiparameter water quality meters are used for a wide range
of applications including water monitoring at wastewater treatment plants;
the higher the ORP at the end of the process, the cleaner the water.

Refer to section 13 of
manual.

assignment
(Attach to AUX 1 Only for AP-2000)
Watch how to install an optical electrode into the AP7000 probe. This multiparameter water quality meter
from Aquaread has 6 auxiliary ports that accept both ISE
and optical electrodes, so you can configure your water
testing equipment to measure the parameters that you
need. The electrode being inserted in this video is the
turbidity optical electrode. This is the same method for
installing Optical Electrode to the AP-2000 or AP-5000.

Assembling the Sleeve Cap

The sleeve is necessary to protect the electrodes that you
have fitted to the probe, and the end cap must be used with
optical electrodes to prevent distorted data caused by UV.
Once the sleeve and end cap are fitted, you are ready to
calibrate the probe.
Refer to section 23 of

Installing the ISE Electrode and socket assignment

(Attach to AUX 2 Only for AP-2000)
See how to install an ISE electrode into an Aquaread Aquaprobe. The water
testing equipment shown in the video is the AP-7000, and the electrode being
installed is the fluoride ISE.
The video demonstrates how to insert the electrode and set up the meter so
that its recognised.
This is the same method for installing Optical Electrode to the AP-2000 or AP5000.

Refer to section 23 of
manual.

Performing the Rapidcal calibration

AP-2000
Probe

In this video, we give a demonstration of Rapidcal calibration. The

Rapidcal solution is used to calibrate the EC, pH7 and all optical zero
points. Calibration is needed to ensure that the water quality monitoring
equipment is capturing the data correctly.
This is the same method for Rapidcal to the AP-2000 or AP-5000.
Calibration values (calibrate as close to 25degC as possible)
pH value 7.00 pH
Conductivity value 2,570 uS/cm
Optical value 0 value (for zero calibration purpose only)

Note:
1. The Probe Sleeve, Sleeve End Cap and End Cap Plug form an integral, working part of the
Probes measurement system, and MUST be fitted during calibration and measurement for
correct operation.
2. The high ionic concentration of pH calibration solutions (buffers), including RapidCal, can
cause significant offsets in ISE electrodes. If ISE electrodes are assembled, please

any other pH buffer solution as well.

Calibrating the Turbidity Electrode

In this video we demonstrate turbidity calibration. The turbidity electrode is
calibrated using 1000 NTU point. Turbidity testing equipment is used to test
water quality; turbidity is one of the key indicators of water quality.
This is just one of the optical electrodes that we have available to be used with
our multiparameter water testing equipment.
This is the same method for installing Optical Electrode to the AP-2000 or AP5000.

Note:
1. The Probe Sleeve, Sleeve End Cap and End Cap Plug form an integral, working part of the Probes
measurement system, and MUST be fitted during calibration and measurement for correct operation.
2. In order to maintain a common reflective pattern between calibration and use, always calibrate and
measure turbidity with the protective Sleeve and End Cap Plug fitted.
3. In order to avoid air bubbles, keep the Turbidity electrode clean, and agitate/swirl the Probe after
submersion into calibration bottle to dislodge any air bubbles which may be clinging to the lenses.
4. The Zero NTU point must always be calibrated first, followed by the other two points (20NTU,
1000NTU), all within the same calibration session (i.e. without turning the Aquameter off).

Refer to section 15 of
manual.

Calibrating the ISE Electrode

The water testing equipment shown in the video is the AP-7000, and the electrode
being installed is the fluoride ISE. Please use different standard solution value for
other ISE parameters per instruction in user manual.
This is the same method for calibrating the ISE Electrode to the AP-2000 or AP-5000.
Calibration Point 1 10 ppm @ around 25degC

Calibration Point 2 100 ppm @ make sure it is same temperature as

Calibration point 1

Calibration Point 3 10 ppm @ around 15degC or lesser (minimal 10degC

lower than cal pt 1)
Note:
1. When an ISE electrode is first installed, it MUST be calibrated at three points in order to establish the
electrode's slope and thermal characteristics. Two of the calibration points must be at the same temperature
whilst the third must be at least 10degC cooler.
2. Prior to initial calibration, all ISE Electrodes should be soaked in their relevant Point 1 calibration solution for
20 30 minutes.
3. If there is no water flow across the ISE electrode, the ions in the immediate area of the electrode will be
depleted and the reading will start to fall. This also applies to calibration, where the probe should be stirred at
all times.
Refer
to section 16 of
4. manual.
For two point and three point calibration, it must be done within the same calibration session (i.e. without
