Biological ETP
A biological process to remove
organic substances, phosphorus and
nitrogen from waste water.
There are two types of biological ETP.
They are1.Conventional
(activated
sludge
method)
2.MBR (Membrane Bio-Reactor).
Membrane Bio-Reactor
Membrane bioreactors is a combine activated
sludge treatment with a membrane liquid-solid
separation process. The bioreactor and
membrane module each have a specific
function:
1.Biologcal degradation of organic pollution is
carried out in the bioreactor by adapted
microorganism.
2. Separation of microorganism from the
treated wastewater is performed by the
membrane module.

OXIDATION UNIT
After sludge separation the wastewater
is passed to oxidation unit for biological
treatments.
Here
oxidation
and
decolonization is done in the same tank.

Chemical used:
1.Bacteria
2.Urea
3.Phospheric acid.
Reaction:
COHNS O 2 nutrients bacteria
CO 2 H 2 O Other end Products
Advantages :
Low investment and operational costs
High efficiency and process stability
Compact plant dimensions
Biological phosphorus and nitrogen removal
Particularly suited for heavy load waste
water
Particularly suited for upgrading of existing
waste water treatment facilities
Conclusion
From the above discussion we have
achieved a great deal of knowledge
about biological ETP.
