INTRODUCTION
This work is to develop some
strategies to master the different
aspects of Communicative
Competence according to the
results obtained in the tests and
other topics investigated in class.
The purpose of it is to identify the
opportunity areas of the student
and create a form to master it.

Results obtained in tests

-Interpersonal

Analisis
According to the tests, it is seen that the
student has to master 3 important
areas:
Interpersonal
Logical
Musical
While has the main area: linguistic
developed more than the others. So the
Communicative Competence is not too
much problem to deal with.

Analisis
According to the learning styles it is said that the
student is more sensitive and visual, but less
active and sequential.
WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?
That the student has to master this weak areas:
Active- reflective
Sequential-global
The first one is related to how we can process the
information, like working in teams or by
interactions with the objects.
The second one is focused on how you can
understand the things, like step by step to get the
total idea or by first taking in account the global
idea and then putting it in parts.

Learning Strategies
So, after having analyzed the situation of the student, it
is going to present some Learning Strategies to master
it.
One technique is mentioned by Gonzalez Salinas in his
presentation: Techniques with strategies, he said that
it is needed the student listens to different opinions
about a controversial issue in order to take part on a
debate; with this the student is mastering the
interpersonal area, because it needs interaction with
others.
It is important to know that in this case the student can
work more in teams and take in consideration the ideas
of others and also can be an active student in sharing
her ideas or opinions with her team.
With this she is mastering the active and reflective
learning style.

Learning Strategies
Another technique is to solve different problems to
master the logical ability, and also the globalsequential learning style, because in that one, some
situations require to see the problem as a whole, but in
others to analyze it in parts. For it Teacher Cabrera
showed in his presentation different activities to
master this areas, like:

Listening to numbers

Categorizing

Classifying

Matching columns
In class, the student can apply these in her different
subjects to learn more and to develop her own
strategies.

Strategies for master the


language abilities
The different abilities of language are: listening,
speaking, writing and reading. These 4 are essential to
have total domain of a language.
And as a student, it is thought that the ability that needs
to be developed is listening, because she have more
difficulties at the moment to understand the meaning of
the message when someone is talking to her.
So, one strategy that she can apply is to see movies in
English without subtitles and try to understand what
the characters are saying. And with the pass of the days
she is going to improve it.
Also she can start listening to English music and identify
the lyrics of the songs, so little by little she is going to
understand more.

Strategies for master the


language sub-abilities
In English there are different levels of language
proficiency, those ones mentioned by the teacher
Balderas, like basic, proficient and independent.
So as a student it is thought that she is placed on
proficient level because in that one, you can
understand the main points of clear standard
input on familiar matters regularly encountered
in work, school, leisure, etc. Can deal with most
situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an
area where the language is spoken, and so on
(Balderas). But having some difficulties with the
sub-ability: vocabulary, because it is thought
that the student does not have a wide lexicon.

Strategies for master the


language sub-abilities
The first one is that the student has to increase the
amount of independent reading. It can be made
through the week, 30 minutes peer day .
The second one is to participate more in literary
circles, like those one made in the university, to
discuss with others the lecture and to give the
definitions of the unknown words.
Another one is to search for the lyrics of the songs
that she likes more and read it. Once the student
makes it, she has to identify the words that she
does not understand and searches for the
meaning of it.

Conclusions
During this analysis it was possible to see the
strong and weak areas of the student in
communicative competence in English, as
listening, vocabulary, active-reflective learning
styles and logical- mathematical intelligence.
And according to those ones, it was developed
some strategies to master them, like watching
movies, listening english songs, participate more
in classes, make a reading every day and so on.
So, with this work it was learned that it is possible
to acquire and to improve a language by itself
following different strategies and techniques,
those ones with total disposition of the person
and dedication.
