UNIT 4 PRE PRODUCTION

Storyboard: A storyboard is a graphic representation of how your video will

unfold, shot by shot. It's made up of a number of squares with illustrations or
pictures representing each shot, with notes about what's going on in the
scene and what's being said in the script during that shot.
Script: the written text of a play, film, or broadcast.
Call sheet: The daily call sheet is a filmmaking term for the schedule crafted
by the assistant director, using the director's shot list. It is issued to the cast
and crew of a film production to inform them of where and when they should
report for a particular day of filming.
Media survey: a general view, examination, or description of someone or
something constructed on social media.
Draft posters: a large printed picture used for decoration. A plan for a poster
but not yet the full design.
Location photos: Location Photography is a very broad thing. It entails almost
everything. It can be divided into interior and exterior locations.

Shot list: A full log of all the shots you want to include in your film; essentially
it is a checklist filled with minute details that will give your film a sense of
direction and efficiency.
Test shots: A series of images photographed at the beginning of a shoot,
often with a stand-in rather than the actual model. These images are taken to
allow the photographer to determine proper exposure, depth of field and
lighting for a photo shoot.
Location scout information: Location scouting is a vital process in the preproduction stage of filmmaking and commercial photography. Once
scriptwriters, producers or directors have decided what general kind of
scenery they require for the various parts of their work that is shot outside of
the studio, the search for a suitable place or "location" outside the studio
begins. Location scouts also look for generally spectacular or interesting
locations beforehand, to have a database of locations in case of requests.
Shooting schedules: A shooting schedule is a project plan of each day's
shooting for a film production. It is normally created and managed by the
assistant director, who reports to the production manager managing the
production schedule.
Script drafting: A plan, sketch, or drawing of something. A preliminary outline
of a book, speech, etc.

information or an opinion (including information or an opinion forming part of

a database), whether true or not, and whether recorded in a material form or
not, about an individual whose identity is apparent, or can reasonably be
ascertained, from the information or opinion.
Health and safety (risk assessment): Regulations and procedures intended to
prevent accident or injury in workplaces or public environments. (A
systematic process of evaluating the potential risks that may be involved in a
projected activity or undertaking).
Copyright clearances: Copyright Clearance Center (CCC) is a U.S. company
based in Danvers, Massachusetts, (although it is incorporated in New York
State), that provides collective copyright licensing services for corporate and
academic users of copyrighted materials.
