SUMMARY OF TEXT FEATURES


Purpose :
To entertain, to amuse, i.e to gain and hold the readers interest in a story.
Types
Fairy stories, mysteries, science fiction, fables, parables, myths, legends
,etc.
Text organisaton/ Generic Structure:
Orientation: Introducing the participants and informing the time and
place.
Complication: Describing the rising climax which the participants have to
do with.
Resolution: Showing the way of participant to solve the climax better or
worse.
Re-orientation/Coda: Closing remark to the story.

LANGUAGE FEATURES
Mainly action verbs
Normally past tense
Many linking words to do with time
Dialogue often included
Can bewritten in the first person ( I, We) or third person (he, she, they)

INFORMATION REPORT
Information report is a text which presents information about
something as it is. The text is the result of systematic observation and
analysis.
Information report are written and spoken (oral) about living things
and non living things.
Information report should :
Fact
Does not personal view
Observation and analyzes
