Something new or unique is sought.

A way of looking at problems or situations from a

fresh perspective that suggests unorthodox solutions

(which may look unsettling at first). Creative thinking
can be stimulated both by an unstructured process
such as brainstorming and by a structured process
such as lateral thinking.

Difference between
Creativity and Innovation

Creativity

The ability to combine ideas in a unique way

or to make unusual association between
ideas.

Innovation

The process of taking a creative idea and

turning it into a useful product, service or
work method.

Five Stages of Creative Thinking

1.Preperation
Formulate the problem and collects the facts
and material for new solution

2.Incubation
(When fail to finding out the solution the
thinker deliberately or involuntary turns away
from it initiating stage 2)
Some ideas tend to fade away
Clues to the solution comes in mind

3.Illumination
Eureka!
An idea to the solution suddenly comes in
mind.

4.Evaluation
The apparent solution is tested to see if it

satisfactorily solves the problem

If not then the thinker is back at the

beginning of the creative process

5.Revision
If satisfactory but needs some modification
