How does it changes the land?

There are three main thing that change the land. It is weathering,
erosion and deposition.

Weathering
Weathering means wearing away of the surface of rock, soil and minerals
into smaller pieces.
Rock- Wind, water, gravity or ice will make the rocks to smaller and
smaller pieces.
Beach- Most of the beach materials are made by weathering such as
sand.

Erosion
Erosion is a action of surface processes that remove soil, rock, or
dissolved material from one location on the Earths crust, then transport
it away to another location.
Rock - Rock and sediments will pick up and moved to another places,
they will also break.
Beach-Hydraulic Action, which is happen when a wave hits a cliff, the air
is forced into cracks under high pressure. As the time past, the cracks
appears in cliff and rocks break off of it.

Deposition
Deposition means that the sediments are carried away by wind, water, or
ice. Sediment can transport as some of them also dissolve in water.
Rock-As it get deposited, it build up layers of sediment. They get added to
a landform or a landmass.
Beach- When the sea drops or deposits material, it is called as a Coastal
Deposition.

How do the beach looks now?

Now day beaches

Different with the past, now the waves are closer to us. Some of the
houses are very near that it looks like it will sink into the ocean. Also,
beautiful white sand all disappeared in the ocean.

How do the beach look with no help to stop

the erosion?

How erosion and weathering affect beaches

Erosion and Weathering will affect beaches a lot. For example, waves
break on a cliff and remove material from it over time. Also, waves
make cracks on the rocks which will make it into sand after a long
time.

After 50 years?
If we leave the shoreline and if 50year past, the shoreline will be eroded
a lot, and maybe the waves would crash on peoples house. Also, there
could be no sands, because it will be all sinked in the ocean. This is the
picture what we think will happen after 50 years.

What changes do we have to make?

What changes should be made to the beach?

We think about many ways to protect shorelines, and it was putting
man- made structures, rocks, machine that will make wave not go to
the shoreline or thing which will make the energy to power.

Graces Idea
Putting the big rock in the ocean, blocking the waves. But it will
dissolve.

Jacks Idea
Putting concrete man-made structure which will only show top corner of it.
It will show down the wave that come to the shoreline. There will be lattice on
middle of the structure.

Christines Idea
Putting man-made structure in the ocean but it wont harm the nature.

Youngs Idea
Putting a rock, and make the wave into energy.
Also, making a wall with a net. Because, when we have a net between
the beach and ocean, it will make wave loose energy before the wave
hit the shorelines.

Final Decision
Our final decision is making a wall that is made of cement. It will lower
the wave energy and not give a lot of damage to the shore.
Our materials for making the wall is cement and rocks.
We will make the rock into small pieces and mix with cement. It will also
not harm the nature.

Why should it be made?

This thing should be made because shoreline erosion will affect us.
People living near the shore could be dangerous and sand could
disappear. People builded man-made structures but it could harm the
nature. Our idea will not harm, and also protect the shoreline.

Why does that change help the beach?

This change will help the beach by make the shoreline erosion slower.
This will make waves not come in close where people live. We could
make the sand stay where we want and live close to the beach.
