COCKPIT

MODULE

The functional performance of the instrument panel has been

changing dramatically since the late 80s, with FMVSS 208
legislation and its related impact on the addition of air bags and
knee bolsters. In addition to addressing occupant safety legislation
through more safety components, as well as navigation, security,
comfort, informational and other systems are being added to the
instrument panel as the consumers' desire for enhanced features
continues. At the same time, consumers still want a product that is
uncomplicated, affordable, aesthetically pleasing and - at the same
time - doesn't limit valuable interior compartment space.
Materials have also changed dramatically. With emphasis on vehicle
performance, especially fuel economy, vehicle weight
considerations were on top of most automotive engineers project
lists.

pit Module (CPM) :CPM is usually defined as a pre-assembly of the components in the dashboard ar
aining complete electronic and mechanical interfaces. The choice of components
grated as a part of the module differs across vehicle manufacturers and depends
pit design and the VMs strategy.

ckpit Module includes instrument panel and one or more of the following
Harness, Audio, Instrument cluster, Steering, Finish panels, Controls, Vents &
ring member etc.
