Validity
Validity
A test is valid if it actually assess the
objectives and what has been
taught. (Abedi. J. 2010)
VALIDITY
CONTENT VALIDITY
FACE VALIDITY
Content Validity
A test is valid if the teacher can clearly
define the achievement that he or she is
measuring.
e.g:
The teacher merely read the story without
stressing on the sequence of the story. She
seems to teach the meaning of the unknown
vocabulary instead of teaching the objective
of the lesson which is to sequence the story.
Face Validity
Refers to the degree to which a test looks
right, and appears to measure the
knowledge or ability it claims to measure.
Tasks that relate to the course content
(content validity).
e.g:
The tasks that the teacher distributes to
the pupils are not in lesson with the lesson
process that she conducted.
Strengths: Objectivity
- The objectivity of a test refers to the
teachers/examiners ability to mark
the answer script.
- The extent of how the same answer
script is being examined and scored
by an examiner.
