The forces for change may come from
the environment external to the firm,
from within the organization, or from
the individuals themselves.
Examples: need for life long learning,

Conflict is a part of organizational life and
may occur within the individual, between
individuals, between the individual and
the group, and between groups
Sources of conflict: High degree of task
interdependence.
Incompatible goals.
Sharing of limited resources.

Conflicts between line and staff positions.
Lack of communication.
