Shakespear

Shakespeare takes us through the many stages of

his most popular and famous theme, Love.
The theme of love is very frequently shown in the plays
written by Shakespeare. Love is the structure of the plays
and usually end the same way as a happily ever after.
Although love is portrayed as a happy component to a
story, love goes through many stages. Love is generally
an all-round happy thing. In Shakespeares story, Twelfth
Night, there is an ambiguous stage of romance. Romance
is portrayed differently in many ways such as, Romantic
love, love at first sight, secret love and the most
suspenseful one, the love triangle.

The first form of love portrayed in the story falls under the
romantic love section. if music be the food of love, play on
(1, 1, 1). That quote tells us a lot about the character itself. In
my opinion, this shows us that Orsino admires the idea of
falling in love with another person therefore telling us that
Orsinos idea of love is false. Orsino is only in love with the idea
of being in love rather than actually falling in love with another
human being. Orsino has the wrong idea of love and only
obsess over the idea of it. This can be related to other
plays/movies such as Goodbye First Love (2011) in which
one of the characters had thought he was in love with another
character from the movie.

The second form of love portrayed in the play is, love at first sight. This
begins when Cesario is sent with a love note to deliver to Olivia. Cesario, who
is Viola, starts to work for Orsino and immediately is attached to him,
although Orsino wanted Cesario to deliver a love note to Olvia in respect of
Orsino. So far we know that Cesario loves Orsino but Orsino loves Olivia.
Even so quickly may one catch the plague? Methinks I feel this youths
perfections/With an invisible and subtle stealth/To creep in at mine eyes
(1.5.265). Olivia then instantly falls for Cesario as Cesario is trying to get
Oliva to love Orsino. At this point we have all the information about the love
triangle, Orsino loves Olivia, Olivia loves Viola (Cesario), Viola (Cesario) loves
Orsino. Love at first sight is one of the many common themes in movies and
plays. In the play Romeo and Juliet- written by Shakespeare, Love at first
sight is shown as romeo finds Juliet at the banquet hall (Capulet Ball)

Love is portrayed differently, which usually teaches us a

lesson. Love is not always as it seems, Viola would be the
perfect example. Viola fooled Orsino and Olivia as viola
was dressed as a girl but is secretly a man. This form of
love plays over many other stories and plays such as Mrs.
Doubtfire. That is a movie in which a character pretends
to be the opposite sex. In Twelfth Night Viola disguises
herself as the opposite sex in order to appeal in front of
Orsino. Mrs. Doubtfire pretends to be a woman on order
to get close with his family once again. Although the plot
is different, the idea and thought is the same.

Although Shakespeare isnt around today, his plays show

a great impact in todays world and have a great
relevance in modern times.
