designate any or even all of thehuman
race regardless of their sex or age
manin traditional usage refers to the
species, to humanity, or "mankind", as a

of body carriage that frees thehandsfor

Man as an Organism

The human body is a complex system of

cells, most of which are grouped into
organ systems that have specialized
functions.
These systems can best be understood
in terms of the essential functions they
serve: deriving energy from food,
protection against injury, internal
coordination, and reproduction.

Man as Biology

All known types of organisms are

capable of some degree
ofresponsetostimuli,reproduction,gro
wth and developmentand homeostasis.
An organism consists of one or
morecells; when it has one cell it is
known as aunicellular organism; and
when it has more than one it is known as
a multicellular organism.

All living organisms known to science are

given classification by this system such
that the species within a particular
family are more closely related and
genetically similar than the species
within a particular phylum.

Man as Psychosocial Well

Being

Nature of Man as a Psychosocial

Being
1. Man is a unique, irreplaceable individual,

a one time being in this world

2. Man is capable of rational, logical
thinking most of the time but can
become irrational and illogical when
provoked.
3. Man is a social being who is capable of
relating with others.

Man as the spiritual well

being

The soul being of man is

not determined by the
body alone. Man does
not wander aimlessly
and without a goal from
one sensation to
another; neither does he
act under the influence
of every casual
incitement directed on
him either from without
or through the
processes of his body.

Created in the image of God, man is

both a corporeal and spiritual being.
Bound to the external world, he also
transcends it.
Man is a bodily creature, as a spirit he is
a person.

Man and his environment

Man and nature

stand together.
Man and
environment were
created to interact
with one another
