What is a VOC?
Volatile organic compounds, or VOCs are organic
chemical compounds whose composition
Many compounds are toxic at very low levels
well before they near combustible levels

Example: Benzene
Occupational carcinogen (Toxic) & Combustible
NIOSH Sort-term exposure limit = 1 ppm
LEL = 1.2% VOL or 12,000 ppm
