Problem Statement
Over 1 billion people across the world do not have access
to safe, clean drinking water.
37.7 million Indian are affected by waterborne diseases
annually.
1.5 million children die of diarrhea and 73 million working
days are lost due to waterborne diseases each year.
Resulting economic burden is estimated around $600
million a year.
Urgent need to protect our poorer populations from
unnecessary health risks, medical expenditures, caused
by consumption of unsafe water.

Long Term Plan

In India, States are the primary provider of drinking water.
Rapid pace of industrialization and greater emphasis on
agricultural growth have led to generation of large
quantities of untreated waste water
With the help of UV filter water can be purified with basic
infrastructure needed to operate (pumping system,
storage tanks, shelter).
The characteristics of the ideal system are - affordability,
efficiency, effectiveness, scalability, inclusiveness and
quality control
The prices of water will be as cheap as 10 to 20 paisa per
