Roast Speech

roast is a lot like a toast, except it pokes

fun at the honoree.
Roasts are often performed at birthday
parties, retirement parties and other
occasions where someone with a sense of
humor is being honored.
Writing a roast speech is a balancing act
and requires both love and sarcasm--the
goal is to poke fun without hurting
feelings.

Eulogy
A

eulogy is a speech of praise for

someone who has just died. It is
often given at a funeral or
memorial service for the
deceased. More often than not,
the person who gives the eulogy
is a sibling or close friend.

Informative Speech
An

informative speech is a
fact-based speech intended
to teach its audience about a
specific topic.

 Smoking

is regarded as a fashion
symbol in young boys. Despite
the ill effects of smoking, people
still continue to smoke. Many
young boys, who start smoking,
feel that they look broadminded
and liberated if they smoke

Persuasive Speech
A

persuasive speech urges the

audience to do something specific. It
can be to change their mind about
something, to vote for (or against)
something, to join or support
something, or even to buy something.
If you are trying to influence the
audience to think, feel or do
something, you are giving a
persuasive speech.

Ladies, gentlemen, there has recently

been a debate as to whether social
networking sites do more harm than
good.
.Overall, the benefits are few and the
drawbacks are many social networking
sites are the center of misconduct, less
studying and unsafe blogs. Do we want our
youths to have their eyes glued to
computer screens or their ears plugged to
headphones? We must restrict social
networking sites to 16s or above! Get your
children outside socializing and inside
studying!

Argumentative Speech

Argumentative speeches are often about

hot topics, and they encourage the
audience to change their views or opinions
on a topic. The speaker shows an obvious
problem at the beginning of the speech
and then moves on to show proof of that
problem and then suggests a solution in
the body. The conclusion sums up the
speech's main idea and supporting points
and should leave the audience ready to
make a decision based on what they just
heard.

Speech of Dedication
Buildings,

monuments, and parks may

be constructed or set aside to honor a
worthy cause or to commemorate a
person, group, significant movement,
historic event, or the like. At such
dedications, the speaker says
something appropriate about the
purpose to be served by whatever is
being set aside and about the
person/s, event, or occasion,
commemorated.

 When

giving a dedication speech,

include an explanation of the
personal meaning and history of the
place or constructed item being
dedicated, showing thanks for the
people who helped earn funds or
build the item. Other things to
include are a special story about the
place or thing and an explanation of
how its dedication will serve as an
inspiration for the future.

Goodwill speech

Goodwill speeches are those that seek to introduce

oneself or entity to another group, organization, or
even country, while at the same time building a
goodwill relationship with that audience.

Goodwill speeches are informative while at the same

time persuasive. You are persuading your audience
to consider you favorably. You will want to make the
case about what makes you qualified orrelevantto
them. Goodwill speeches also often highlight shared
customs, values, morals, and beliefs. Goodwill
speeches do not make assumptions or judgments
about their audience and do not intimidate,
embarrass, or offend them.
