Training & Certification Team

Master IPC Trainer (MIT)
MITs are required to meet specific qualifications
The MIT credential is directly tied to a single
employing training center
Separate MIT credentials are required for each
IPC training and certification program
An MIT is authorized by IPC to conduct training
and grant IPC certification on behalf of IPC
MITs provide the first level of technical and
administrative support to CITs and CISs they
have trained

Certified IPC Trainer (CIT)
CIT credentials are required for each program
A CIT for a program may conduct (CIS) training
and certification only to that program

CITs may:

A single extension of up to 90 days may be
granted
CIS certification extensions are granted by any
currently certified MIT or CIT for that program,
using the extension form
CIS Extension Form
Note that no extension will be granted past the
90 days listed above

Recertification
Recertification can be accomplished using
any of the following processes:
Successfully complete recertification training for
that program where a unique recertification
program is available
Successfully complete the certification program
Successfully complete the challenge testing for
that program
When recert is more than 90 days before or
after the existing expiration, a new two-year
expirations will be established

Testing
All workmanship skills and examinations shall be
proctored in person by a current MIT/CIT for that
program
Written exams are to completed online
Online print option is only for lack of infrastructure or
national security restrictions and requires a waiver

Upon successful completion an electronic certificate

will be issued which can be printed
Each exam shall be completed in a single
contiguous and continuous time block
Every effort should be made to adhere to the testing
schedules

Individuals that fail one or more written tests
may be given the opportunity to retest
Wait time before retesting and other time
limits may apply
