PREGNANCY
Pregnancyis the term used to
describe the period in which a
woman carries a fetus inside of
her. In most cases, the fetus grows
in the uterus.Pregnancyusually
lasts about 40 weeks, or just over
9 months, as measured from the
last menstrual period to
childbirth.Pregnancyis divided
into three trimesters.
FERTILIZATION
Fertilization is a reproductive process wherein half of the genes of the
father and mother combine to form a single cell
The new cell then divides and forms more cells. This ball of cells enters
the uterus and attaches itself to the uterine wall. The attachment of the
developing cells to the uterus is called implantation.
Second Trimester
The second trimester is weeks 13 to 27.
Third Trimester
Third trimester starts about 28 weeks and lasts until birth.

First Trimester
Conception to about the
12thweek of pregnancy
marks the first trimester.
The second trimester is

FIRST TRIMESTER
Extreme fatigue
Tender, swollen breasts. Nipples may protrude.
Nausea with or without throwing up (morning sickness)
Cravings or aversion to certain foods
Mood swings
Constipation
Frequent urination
Headache
Heartburn
Weight gain or loss
