When we agree with something that


someone says , we can use TOO or SO.
The sentences are affirmative.
When we agree with something someone
says , and the statement is negative, we
use:
Neither or Either.
Too & So

Grammar for so/too:

SO AUX (or BE) Subject

Subject AUX (or BE) TOO

A: "I'm afraid of spiders."


B: "So am I." or "Me too."

A: "I must hurry , it's late already"


B: "Oh ! So must I."

I am hungry, and so are you. / you are too.


Neither/Either
Subject (-) AUX or BE either

Neither (+) AUX or BE Subject

A: "I don't have any free time."

B: "Neither do I." or "Nor do I." or "I don't either." or

"Me neither."

A: "We don't smoke."

B: "Neither does he." or "Nor does he."

I am not tired, and neither are my friends. / my

friends are not either.

I can't play chess, and neither can you. / you can't

either.
