BACKGROUND OF STUDY
English is the official language in a large
numbers of countries.
English also is the dominant business
language and it has become almost a
necessity for people to speak English if
they are to enter a global workforce.
So, it is important for a student learn
English for a better future.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
UMK students have a problem with their
English which are in speaking, writing,
listening and reading.
Some of the factors that lead the
students have a problem with English
are difficult in communication,
environmental and grammar problem.
RESEARCH OBJECTIVE
To examine the factors that influences
the student difficult to speak in English.
To determine the frequency of student to
speak in English in their daily life.
To analyze the confident level of student
speaking in English.
RESEARCH QUESTION
What is the factor that influences the
student difficult to speak in English?
How many words that a student speaks
in English for a day?
When is the student able to speak in
English confidently?
RESEARCH FRAMEWORK
RESEARCH HYPOTHESIS
H1 : If the students work hard to learn
in English, then they will be able to
speak and writing smoothly.
H2 : If the students practice a lot to
speak outside of the class, then they
will have a great confident level.
H3 : If the students tend to study more
about grammar, then they will have
no problem to speak spontaneously.

Observation
Underthe observation method, the information is
sought by way of investigators own direct
observations without the knowledge of the
respondents.

The personal interview consists of administering
structured questionnaires where trained
interviewers ask fixed choice questions in a
consistent format.
