It depends how city growth2013 is measured as
to the scale of the problem.
Some people measure the actual number but the rate of growth gives
a more accurate assessment of the scale of the problem. It also
depends on the period of time over which the figures are measured.
As a result a Google search of worlds fastest growing cities unearths a
wide range of lists, some of which have completely different cities
listed.
Remember also the difficulty of conducting a census in any country,
especially the very poor or those with a wide discrepancy of wealth.
4A Of the 10 fastest growing cities in the world seven are in one country
which is hardly surprising, but most people would be surprised to learn the
other three are all in West Africa and all are capitals in their respective

Just south of the Equator in the Pacific Ocean, lies the island of Nauru

20th Century it boasted an income per head above that of the USA due
to rich resources of phosphates. These have now become exhausted
and the people are struggling to survive. The Australians have opened
two detention centres to house boat people from Asia and in return
pay for the privilege.
