The purpose of this presentation is to teach
area and the importance of common core
state standards.

It is important because it helps students to:
1. Be successful in college.
2. Solve problems in daily life.

A regular polygon is a figure that has all

A composite shape is a shape that can be
divided into two or more shapes.
For example, this figure is a composite figure
as it consists of more than one basic shape.

Finding Area Through Sub-Division
Figure out the missing sides.
Break the figure into smaller shapes.
Find the area of the smaller shapes.
Add the areas of the smaller shapes together
to find the area of the entire figure.
