ANTHEM OF THE SEAS

Our History
Since Royal Caribbean was founded, over 40 years ago, we have
been recognized as a leader in the cruise industry. During
these years, our company has evolved in many ways; however,
its essence remains the same: We always strive to provide our
guests with the best vacation through excellence and
innovation. Our history is a succession of exciting moments.
Here we share some of our milestones:
1969
Royal Caribbean Cruise Line is founded by three prominent
Norwegian shipping companies. By 1970, our first ship Song
of Norway- makes its maiden voyage (in 1978, she is the first
ship to be "stretched" when an 85-foot section was added).
1971 - 1982
Nordic Prince, Sun Viking, and Song of America enter service.
1984
ShipShape is introduced; it is the first program incorporating
fitness incentives to the onboard activities.
1986
Labadee, Royal Caribbean's own exclusive destination, opens on the
north coast of Hispaniola.
1988
Royal Caribbean and Admiral Cruises merge. At the same time,
Sovereign of the Seas is launched signaling the beginning of a
growth period in which Royal Caribbean triples in size.
1992
Our environmental program "Save the Waves" is formally launched.
1993
Royal Caribbean goes public, trading in the New York Stock Exchange
under the symbol "RCL".
1997
Royal Caribbean Cruise Line changes its name to Royal Caribbean
International to reflect its global operation and itineraries.
1999
Voyager of the Seas is launched and celebrates the title as "the
world's largest ship".
2001
Radiance of the Seas enters service and is Royal Caribbeans
first ship with gas turbines.
2002
GOLD Anchor Service is launched to emphasize the outstanding,
friendly service offered to our guests.
2004
Royal Caribbean receives an Achievement in Culinary Excellence
Award from the American Culinary Federation, Inc.
2006
Freedom of the Seas sets sail for the first time. Liberty of the
Seas and Independence of the Seas complete this class by
2008.
2009
Oasis of the Seas is launched, and with a guest capacity of
5,400 guests and a gross tonnage of 220,000 it is the biggest
ship in the world.
2010
In 2010, Oasis of the Sea's sister ship, Allure of the Seas
enters service with great news for the whole family: a
partnership with Dreamworks that takes entertainment to a
new level.
2013
Once again, Royal Caribbean announces a new class of ships
that will transform every aspect of the cruise experience.
From multi-functional staterooms to ever-changing leisure
spaces, Quantum of the Seas (scheduled to launch in 2014)
and Anthem of the Seas (scheduled to launch in 2015) will
represent an unprecedented leap forward in the industry. In
addition, a third Oasis class ships is expected to be delivered
in 2016.
As we continue moving forward, transforming the cruise
industry, we invite you to explore career opportunities that
could put you at the center of our story.
On February 11, 2011, Royal Caribbean announced
that they had ordered a new class of ships from
theMeyer Werftshipyard inPapenburgh Germany,
the first of which was scheduled to be delivered by
Fall 2014. At the time, the project was code-named
"Project Sunshine".Later that year, two 20.5-
megawattABB AzipodXO propulsion units were
ordered for that ship.

On February 29, 2012 the company announced

that a second "Project Sunshine" ship had been
ordered and would be delivered by Spring 2015,
and ordered identical Azipod propulsion units
shortly thereafter. Just under a year later, on
January 31, 2013, Royal Caribbean announced the
official name of the new class of
ships,QuantumClass, as well as the names of the
first two ships in the class,Quantum of the
SeasandAnthem of the Seas.
Anthem
of the Seaswas delivered to Royal Caribbean on April 10, 2015. She arrived at
her first homeport,Southampton England on April 15, 2015, to prepare for her maiden
European summer season. At a ceremony held in Southampton on April 20, 2015, she
was christened by Emma Wilby, a British travel agent chosen after a search for a
travel agent who could sing, and also because she exemplified "grace, beauty, a
social conscious (sic) and a sense of adventure. In addition to being a travel agent,
MsWilby is a military wife who sings in the Military Wives Choir inKinloss ,Scotland.

The
christening ceremony took place in the vessels Royal Theatre in front of 1,300
guests. It began with a procession, followed by performances by the Reading Scottish
Pipe Band, andOnly Boys Aloud, a boys choir from Wales. MsWilby then sangKaty
Perrys hit song "Fireworkafter which she pushed a button to send a very large bottle
ofPerrier Jout champagne down azipline on the ship's top deck, from the North Star
gondola thrill ride into a wall bearing the ship's name.

Anthem
of the Seasdeparted from Southampton on her maiden voyage, an eight-
night cruise to France and Spain, on April 22, 2015. She has spent her maiden
European season cruising from Southampton to theMediterranean ,Northern Europe
and theCanary Islands Beginning in November 2015, she will operate seven- to
twelve-night itineraries to theCaribbean andBahamasfromCape LibertyinBayonne,
New Jersey United States. In 2016,Anthem of the Seaswill sail year-round out of New
Jersey, sailing to the Caribbean, Bermuda, andCanada/New England Anthem of the
Seaswill become the largest ship ever to cruise Canadian waters
Anthem of the Seas is the second ship in Royal
Caribbean's Quantum Class. The 4,180-passenger cruise
ship features innovations like RipCord by iFly, a skydiving
simulator; North Star, a jewel-shaped glass capsule that
rises 300 feet above sea level, providing 360-degree
views from high above the ship; and the SeaPlex, the
largest indoor sports and entertainment complex at sea,
with attractions ranging from bumper cars, roller skating
and video gaming to a circus school, complete with flying
trapeze classes.

Anthem has 2,090 cabins, which include several cabin

categories that debuted on sister Quantum of the Seas.
The ones that have garnered the most headlines are the
375 rooms with virtual balconies (floor-to-ceiling ultra-HD
screens with real-time views of the ocean and
destinations visited). The ship also features
interconnected family staterooms, which prove more
accommodating for large groups, and studio staterooms
with balconies that spoil solo travelers.
Onboard entertainment is exceptional, highlighted by West End
musical, "We Will Rock You," which rivals anything you'd see on
Broadway. At night, the ship's innovative Two70 venue blends
technology with live performance, including aerialists, singers
and dancers.

Art throughout the ship is whimsical, fun and beautiful. It's

epitomized by Gigi, a two-deck giraffe wearing an inner tube.
We took the time to walk up each set of staircases onboard just
to see as much of the art as possible. You can't miss the multi-
deck crystal-and-gold cherry blossom piece that begins on the
ship's promenade (called the Esplanade) on Deck 4. Another
fun piece is an interactive work that allows passengers to place
their hands on a podium. Plates on the podium measure your
heartbeat, which is then "shown" on a huge chandelier that
beats in time. It stores 200 heartbeats, so when someone
doesn't have their hands on the podium, the 200 lights blink to
reflect each one.
The ship's Esplanade and its adjacent area, called The Via, are
the ship's hub of nighttime activity, with bars and restaurants
throughout. (The two areas are separated by a stairwell and
bank of elevators, and The Via houses high-end shops, as well as
bars and restaurants.) In total, the ship features 18 dining
venues, including three -- Jamie's Italian, Michael's Genuine Pub
and Devinly Decadence -- created in association with celebrity
chefs. Also onboard is a restaurant called Wonderland, which is
the cruise line's first real foray into molecular gastronomy. You'll
pay for a number of the restaurants, but the extra-fee venues by
far offer the best food onboard.

Anthem is a big, bold, beautiful ship, with more restaurants, bars

and entertainment onboard than you can hope to experience in a
week. It's entertaining and flashy, and it reminds us of being in a
Las Vegas hotel for a week. The atmosphere is equal parts
modern sophistication and straight-up fun.
In general, our one gripe about Anthem of the Seas is that you
could spend a lot of money onboard, and the cruise fares are
already pretty expensive. But if you're looking to have a blast on
your cruise, and you like a choice of dining, bars and mind-
blowing entertainment, this is the ship for you.

Anthem of the seas dress Code
During the day, virtually anything goes: Swimsuits and shorts
poolside are perfect, though shirts for men and cover-ups for
women are required for dining indoors. At night, casual resort
wear is required; for men. That means slacks or khakis and
collared shirts, and for women, sundresses, or capris, nice slacks
or skirts with blouses. Anthem of the Seas does not have a
formal night, but if you dine at The Grande on any night, formal
dress is required. Acceptable formalwear includes evening or
cocktail gowns or dressy slacks and blouses for women, and
tuxes, suits or slacks with sports coats, dress shirts and ties for
men .
Anthem of the seas Gratuity
Passengers on all Royal Caribbean ships are charged $12.95
per person, per day ($15.95 for passengers in suites).
Gratuities can be prepaid or added on a daily basis to
passengers' SeaPass accounts during each sailing. An 18
percent gratuity is automatically added to bar tabs and spa
bills.

10 Thing You can only do on Anthem of
the Seas

While you won't have to jump off a

plane 13,000 feet in the air, you can
challenge yourself with Anthem of the
Seas' RipCord by iFly. The skydiving
simulator is an enclosed wind tunnel
on the top deck that lets daring
cruisers -- jumpsuit, goggles and all --
soar up to 23 feet in the air. Once
inside, you'll have a total of two
minutes with an instructor. Try to hold
2. Rock out to Queen.-If you love rock music and a good
show, you'll enjoy the popular Broadway musical "We Will
Rock You," offered in Anthem's Royal Theater. For 90 minutes
-- and no extra cost -- you can sing and dance along to
Queen's greatest hits (plus a few lesser-known songs), while
the story of Bohemians seeking to restore the power of rock
'n' roll unfolds.
3. Get "locked up" with fellow cruisers and solve
puzzles to escape.
A great way to unleash your competitive side or make new
friends, "Escape from the Future" is a free game that
teams adult passengers with friends or strangers who
must crack codes in order to find a key and "escape the
room." The caveat: you only have one hour. Inspired by the
land-based game Puzzle Break, it's cruise ship trivia with a
twist -- and a fun, brainy alternative to usual pool activities
like the world's sexiest man and belly flop competitions.
4. See what the ship looks like from 300 feet above sea
level - Don't worry; there's no action-packed task to obtain
these views (although, a fear of heights could hinder you).
All you have to do is step into the North Star, a glass
capsule with a mechanical arm that rises and extends over
the side of the ship. Its jewel-like shape provides stunning
360-degree views -- especially on sea days. The ride is free,

bartender.
Makr Shakr is a bartending robot at Anthem of the Seas'
Bionic Bar. Once you place an order via tablet, the
mechanical arm will mix your drink using a shaker, pour it
into a cup and serve you. Bear in mind: It's not much of a
talker and can't offer you personal advice...although, it is a
great listener.
6. Catch an impromptu piano performance inside the
elevator. -Keep your eyes are peeled or luck into being in the right
place at the right time, and you might encounter Anthem of the
Seas' stowaway piano player. The performer stealthily moves
around the ship to "avoid getting caught," bringing his piano with
him wherever he goes. If you spot him in an elevator, stairwell or
other undisclosed area, stick around; the music and laughter are
infectious
7. Ride bumper cars.-Only on Quantum-class ships can you unleash
your inner kid at the SeaPlex shipboard amusement park. The multi-
purpose SeaPlex offers two decks of recreational activities, like roller
skating and bumper cars, as well as a food truck and floating DJ
booth. You also can swing through the air with trapeze lessons or
hang out at one of the upstairs lounges, stocked with Xbox video
games, air hockey and more.

8. Pair real American craft beer with celebrity chef

dishes.
Michael's Genuine Pub is not only the first American
gastropub at sea, but it's also led by James Beard Award-
winning chef Michael Schwartz. Akin to your local
neighborhood bar, Michael's serves up American craft beer
and local brews -- both on tap and bottled -- as well as
sumptuous bites like falafel, organic ricotta crostini and
slow-roasted pork sliders.
9. Watch a virtual symphony over crafted
cocktails.
Located in Two70, Vistarama is Anthem of the Seas'
version of an IMAX theater. The high-tech venue's video-
projection screens set the stage for the virtual symphony
-- which features performances by the American
Philharmonic Orchestra. Two70 also hosts live acts; one
of the main shows, Spectra's Cabaret, blends
performances by aerialists, singers and dancers with
digital imagery with the help of six "dancing" robot
screens. Grab a crafted cocktail from the venue's ice bar,
and enjoy the spectacle.
10. Choose between two styles of Dynamic Dining.-For those who relish
traditional dining (fixed times and seating) but still want to try all of
Anthem of the Seas' four main restaurants, Royal Caribbean offers Dynamic
Dining Classic. A mix of its traditional and flexible dining styles, the option
allows you to book a fixed dining time and rotate with a set group of dinner
companions and waiters among the ship's four main complimentary
restaurants: American Icon Grill, Chic, The Grande and Silk. Book Dynamic
Dining Choice for the freedom to choose your restaurant and dining time
each night -- or eat in the same venue all week if you choose.
