Introduction of the Country
The Republic of Ghana is a country in West
Africa.
It has a sovereign unitary presidential
constitutional democracy.
It is located along the Gulf of Guinea and Atlantic
Ocean.
It has a land mass of 238,535 square km.
It has a population of 27 million.
Ghana is bordered by the Ivory Coast in the west,
Burkina Faso in the north, Togo in the east and

Brief History of Ghana
The territory of present day Ghana has been
inhabited for millennia.
The first permanent proof of inhabitation dates
back to the 11th century.
Numerous kingdoms and empires emerged over
the centuries of which Kingdom of Ashanti was
the most powerful.
Starting from the 15th century numerous
European powers contested the area for trading
rights.

Ghana is a multiparty constitutional democracy

Ghana has been enjoying political stability for a
long time which is quite rare in the African
continent.

world and the 5th least fragile state in Africa
after Mauritius, 2nd Seychelles, 3rd Botswana,

Since independence, Ghana has been devoted to
ideals of nonalignment and is a founding member

Ghana is endowed with abundant natural wealth,
including vast agricultural, mining and human
resources. Along with its growing manufacturing
sector, agriculture remains a key sector of the
economy.
The country has over 13.6 million hectares of
arable land suitable for crops or livestock, and a
potential annual production of 655,000 metric
tons of fisheries products.
Ghana is currently the second largest producer of

Cultural Difference With

comprising dozens of native ethnic groups, such
as Akans, Ga-Adangbe, Guang, Dagombas,
Gurunsi, Gonjas.
