The Third Commandment
"God's actions are the model for human actions."
(CCC 2172)

It can be found in Ex 20:8-10 and Deut 5:12-15.

The sabbath is the day of the Lord of mercies and a day to
honor God.
The SUNDAY EUCHARISTIC OBLIGATION is the foundation
and confirmation of all Christian practice.

It is the day of Resurrection.
It is the first day of the week which recalls the first creation.
It is the day after the "eighth day" (eighth day: resurrection and
judgement day).
How to keep Sunday

Refrain from activities that impede worship of God & that will
disturb the joy proper to the day of the Lord or the necessary
relaxation of mind and body (meditation, reflection, silence,
study, and good works particularly for the sick and elderly).

Fulfill your obligations to your neighbors.
