Plagiarism-the practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own.
Summarize-give a brief statement of the main points of (something).
Paraphrase-express the meaning of (the writer or speaker or something written or spoken) using different words,
especially to achieve greater clarity.
MLA book citation-MLA handbook highlights principles over prescriptive practices.
MLA website citation- Include a URL or web address to help readers locate your sources.
Reliable-consistently good in quality or performance; able to be trusted.
Unreliable-not able to be relied upon.
Bias-prejudice in favor of or against one thing, person, or group compared with another, usually in a way
considered to be unfair.
Publisher-a person or company that prepares and issues books, journals, music, or other works for sale.
Date of Access- The date of access is the date you actually retrieved the information from the internet.
MLA-(Modern Language Association) style is most commonly used to write papers and cite sources within the liberal arts and
humanities.
Page Header- Writers sometimes use Section Headings to improve a documents readability. These sections may include individual
chapters or other named parts of a book or essay.
Heading-
Title format- These rules apply to titles in the text, in parenthetical citations, and in Works Cited page entries.
Margin format- APA Style uses a unique headings system to separate and classify paper sections.
Line Spacing-Line spacing is the vertical distance between lines of text. Font options-
Works Cited-Works cited pages would appear at the end of a research paper.
Hanging Indent- indentation of a paragraph in which all lines except the first are indented.
Ellipses-the omission from speech or writing of a word or words that are superfluous or able to be understood
from contextual clues.
Print Parenthetical Reference- parenthetical citation. This method involves placing relevant source information in parentheses after
a quote or a paraphrase.
Digital Parenthetical Reference-
Citation- quotation from or reference to a book, paper, or author, especially in a scholarly work.
