Introduction:

Abdominal fat: The problem of Poultry Industry

Breeding Advances and Nutritional Advances

Choct et al. (2000) found that modern broiler strains

contain 15% to 20% fat and >85% of this fat is not
physiologically required for body function

Affects consumer acceptance

Fouad et al. (2014)

Objective :

To evaluate the effects of

different levels of L-arginine
supplementation on the blood
lipids content of broilers in the
period from 29 to 42 days old
Material and Methods :
780 broilers (males and females)-> Cobb 500

29 days old-> males ( 1403 22 g) and females

(1294
Guo et al. (2011)-> 5th weekbroiler
50 g)chickens increase the
diameter of adipocytes
Guo et al., (2011)-> 5 semana os frangos de corte aumentam o dimetros dos
adipcitos
Experimental design: Distribute in Randomized Blocks

Blocks -> boxes and cage

Conclusion:

Supplementation of 0.66% l-
arginine shows the best
blood lipids relation,
possibly reducing the fat
content in broilers.
