 Locomotor disability means a
persons inability to execute
distinctive activities associated
with moving, both himself or
herself and objects, from place to
place, and such inability resulting
from affliction of either bones,
joins, muscles or nerves

 EDUCATION PROGRAMS
Formal school :- The ministry of Human Resource Development
has been implementing a scheme of Integrated Education for the
Disabled Children (IEDC) in formal schools since 1982.
The main objective of the scheme is to provide educational
opportunities for the disabled children .
Integrated Education for Disabled Children(IEDC) in District
Primary Education Program (DPEP):- DPEP launched in 1994,aims
at Universalization of Primary Education (UPE).
Special School :- This is a programme of the Ministry of Social
justice and Empowerment. Children with severe multiple
disabilities who have difficulty in coping with regular schools are
referred to such special schools .
National Open School(NOS):-It allows total freedom to learn at
ones own speed. There is no age limitations for admission in NOS
programmers. Flexibility in choice of subject .
 SPECIAL EFFORTS MADE TO IMPROVE COURAGE

Training
Intensive training at various levels including National
Trainers, Master Trainers Facilitators
Training imparted by experts from disability sector using
specially developed training modules
Role models from disability groups were invited in training
classes to motivate and sensitize Census functionaries
National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled
People (NCPEDP) and its alliance partners were associated in
developing training modules, imparting training and
sensitizing Census functionaries.
