Why to choose such topic?
According to JVVNL, the daily consumption of electricity was raised up-to 135 and 145 lakhs units per day
in this month.

In the past 30 years the demand for electricity has grown at an average rate of 3.6%.

India accounts for 3.4% of global energy consumption.

In the past few years the demand for electricity is outstripping the supply by 7% to 11%.

India is facing a serious problem of inadequate power generation.

The share of renewable sources in total power generation will rise from 21% recorded in 2012 to 33% by
2040 (source: International Energy Agency).
per capita consumption of Electricity in India
KWh/year
It has reached up to 1010 kWh in
2014-15, compared with 957 kWh
in 2013-14 and 914.41 kWh in
2012-13 according to CEA, Indias
apex power sector planning body.
Around 280 million people in
the country do not have
access to electricity.
A big reason to worry.

What is Piezoelectric Effect?
The piezoelectric effect is the electric
charge that is created as a result of
stressing certain materials.
Pavegen
Technology
Pavegen uses what it
calls a hybrid black
box technology to
convert the energy of
a footstep into
electricity, which is
either stored in a
battery or fed directly
to devices.
How to setup the material?
Advantages to install this:
This technology has developed a modular system to simplify the installation
process in both indoor and outdoor environments.

The tiles are made from nearly 100-percent recycled materials (mostly rubber)
and some marine grade stainless steel.

This project will investigate the situations on potential to harvest energy, the
monetary cost and the practicality.

Depending on the force of the step, each footstep generates between one and
seven watts, and the tiles can also be used to track patterns of crowd
movement. Best of all, it requires mainly used tires and concrete.

These are designed to capture the wasted energy and resources, and store or
redistribute them where they are needed.
Contd
The tiles are very durable, weather resistant having
high fatigue resistance as well.

The technology is most effective in areas with high

traffic, producing an efficient solution that matches
supply with demand.

Piezoelectric effect is much more beneficial in

acoustic instruments as it can convert high frequency
mechanical vibration into electric oscillation.
Conclusion & Future Scope
This technology has some social advantage in which it
can help raise the awareness of the society about the
importance of sustainability.

Further it can be concluded that using these kind of floors

in future one can withstand with unlimited amount of
electricity in domestic as well as industrial places

This invention will take the growth of rapid development

of renewable energy sources at greater heights.
