INTRODUCTION
Nutrition is a core pillar of human development and
concrete, large-scale programming not only can
reduce the burden of under nutrition and deprivation
in countries but also can the progress of nations.
Womens health in India can be examined in terms of
multitude of health problems, which ulitimatly affect
the aggregate economys output.
Addressing the gender, class or ethnic disparities
that exit in healthcare and improving the health
outcomes can contribute to economic gain through
the creation of quality human capital and increased
levels of savings and investment.

Maternal malnutrition has been associated with an
increased risk of maternal mortality and also birth
defects.
The problems of malnutrition would lead beneficial
outcomes for women and children.
India is facing a growing cancer epidemic, with a large
increase in the number of women with breast cancer.
Cardiovascular disease is a major contributor to female in
India.
Goiter enlargement of thyroid gland due to lack of iodine.
NUTRITIONAL ANEMIA
A condition of in which the Hb content of blood
lower than normal as a result of a deficiency of
one or more essential nutrients.
Primarily due to lack of absorbable iron in the
diet.

CHILDREN HEALTH IN INDIA
India has the highest number of low birth weight
babies per year at an estimated 7.4 million.
Only 25% of newborns were put to the breast

Only 20% of children age 6-23 months are fed
appropriate according to all three recommended
practices for infant and young children.
70% of children age 6-59 month are anaemic.
