Listening and Speaking as Language Skills

Mastering a foreign language requires competence in the

writing, reading, listening and speaking skills.
According to Sun (2009), The primary language of human
being develops from listening and speaking.
When we perceive input through listening, we can produce
an output through speaking.
According to Bozorgian (2012), listeningskillsprovide

Speaking is the ability to communicate ourselves effectively.

Skills in Foreign Language Teaching?
You Tube as a Listening Tool

According to AlBaddi (2013), YouTube is a

multimedia resource which integrates audio
and visual features.
Visual and audio effects have an impact on
keeping students engaged and on improving
their listening comprehension.
Teachers can use videos in classrooms such as
video blogs, specific curriculum or standard
based education videos.

University at Carbondale.
Soliya as a Listening and Speaking

Soliya is a non-governmental organization that

leads videoconferences among university students
from different countries in the world in English.
Its main aim is to facilitate understanding and
competence between the west and the east.
However, it can be used by teachers as an
effective tool in improving the listening and
speaking English skills.
Long (1996) states that speaking skills develop
best in an authentic situation that involve
negotiation of meaning.
